Food Safety and Quality, Risk Management Programmes
I have been assisting companies in the food, meat and pet food industries as a consultant
since June 1994 with the development of systems for food safety, quality management and
environmental management or for compliance with requirements under the Animal Products
Act (Risk Management Programmes) and the Food Act (Food Control Plans, HACCP Plans,
National Programme) for the local NZ market and export markets including advice relating
to OMAR (Overseas Market Access). I have also assisted with audits and staff training.
I am also now increasingly involved with ongoing systems maintenance and compliance
management - this includes programme updates, internal auditing, assistance with
corrective actions after external verifications, taking of product and environmental
samples, in house calibrations, vermin control checks etc.
Clients typically do not have a full time Q.A. or Technical Manager and use my expertise
in a cost effective way, as and when they need it.

· Degree in Veterinary Science (1975 Berlin).
· Doctoral Thesis (1978 Institute for Meat Hygiene and Meat Technology, Berlin).
· Low acid canning Course/HACCP (1 week Massey University).
· Introduction to ISO 9000 Quality Systems in December 1994 (SGS course).
· Stebbing course for ISO 9000 auditors (1 week)
· Training course for ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems with TELARC
(November 1995, one week)
· HACCP Coordinator (NZQA 12626)
